AFS is delighted to offer 19 Full and Partial Scholarships for high school students in Australia to fulfill their Japanese dreams!
These scholarships are open to all high school applicants (some in specific regions) proudly supported by AFS Japan, Anglo Coal Australia and Mitsui Coal Holdings Pty Ltd, Japan-Australia LNG (“MIMIâ€), J-Power Australia, the Kamenori Foundation, the Sony Foundation Australia and the Australian Federation of Modern Language Teachers Associations.

4 Kamenori Foundation Full Year Program Scholarships worth AUD$11,200 each
4 Intercultural Language Learning Full Year Program Scholarships worth AUD$11,200 each
1 J-Power Full Year Program Scholarship worth AUD$11,200 (only open to QLD students)
1 Sony Year Program Partial Scholarship worth AUD $5,600
2 MIMI Year Program Partial Scholarships worth AUD$5,000 each
6 AFS Japan Year Program Partial Scholarships worth AUD$2,000 each
1 Akito Sumibo Full Intensive Program Scholarship worth AUD$6,050
Who is eligible?
A high school student in Australia:
who is aged between 15 and 18 at the start of the program
who meets the AFS application guidelines for Japan
whose family is willing to host an AFS Japanese student for the duration of the exchange program (This condition only applies to applicants for the four Intercultural Language Learning full year scholarships only, please contact AFS on 1300 131 736 for more details)
Full Scholarships to Japan cover:
Return travel from your home right to the door of your host family
Full orientation and enrichment activities during the stay
Most medical costs incurred during the visit, except for pre-existing conditions, dental and eye care

Intensive (2 months) High School Program to Japan departing December 2007
